Boonton Township (07005) is located in Morris County, NJ. The community has a total area of 8.6 square miles and has approximately 1,800 housing units. Boonton Township borders Boonton Borough and is less densely populated. The community is set among the rolling hills and fields of the Rockaway Valley and has lots of natural character and rural charm. The community is just minutes away from the Boonton Borough Train Station on the NJ Transit Montclair-Boonton Line which offers service to Hoboken Terminal. Passengers can transfer to another train or bus before Hoboken for a Midtown Manhattan commute. At Hoboken Terminal, passengers can switch to the PATH to reach NYC. Lakeland Bus provides service from Boonton Borough to NY Port Authority in Midtown. During rush hour, the bus ride takes about 55 minutes.

Public Schools
Boonton Township students in public school for kindergarten through eighth grade attend Rockaway Valley School. For grades 9-12, students attend Mountain Lakes High School in Mountain Lakes Borough.

Recreation
There are some great hiking trails and recreational facilities located in and close by Boonton Township, which include the Tourne, Pyramid Mountain, Split Rock Reservoir, Wild Cat Ridge and Turkey Mountain. Township parks include Leonard Park, Griffith Park, Tumble-in Park, and Forest Park.
