Vail Mansion is a luxury condo community located on South Street in Morristown in Morris County, NJ. There are approximately 36 units in the complex which opened in 2008. The building, which sits on 3.6 acres with a reflecting pool, was originally constructed in the Italian Renaissance style in 1918 by Theodore Vail, the first president of AT&T. Shortly thereafter, the estate was sold to Morristown, who used the building for municipal offices for many years. Vail Mansion offers 2 bedroom high-end, single-floor condos with approximately 1,700 to 2,000 square foot of living space. Design features include gourmet kitchens, magnificent cabinetry, marble baths, hardwood flooring, nine-foot ceilings, and technology packages. Residents enjoy private enclosed parking. The development is a condominium or condo association. As of the year 2016, Taylor Management was employed by the residents. The monthly association fee was approximately $560 to $1,100 depending upon the size of the unit and includes exterior building maintenance, common area maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, and trash removal. Amenities include concierge services, a fully equipped fitness center and aerobics studio, a state-of-the-art multimedia theater, and a clubroom. The complex has convenient access to Interstate 287 and is within walking distance to the Morristown Green and Morristown Train Station.
